5. New full-time faculty at Tecnológico de Monterrey can apply for classification in the following cases:
a. Full-time faculty who, on joining the Institute, have a consolidated and recognized background in a specific category at another prestigious higher education institution, can apply, during their first year working at the Institution, for an equivalent teaching classification at Tecnológico de Monterrey, as long as they meet the following equivalence requirement:
- Have evidence of a current classification appointment by their higher education Institution of origin, which must be ranked in the Top 200 by QS, ARWU or THE. In the event that the Institution of origin is not ranked in the Top 200, but is on the list of ranked institutions, the National Dean of the corresponding School may request an exception, providing the reasons for validating the classification.
- The national dean or the associate dean of faculty of the corresponding school requests the same.
b. Full-time faculty who, on joining the Institute, have a consolidated background based on their achievements can receive, in extraordinary cases, the category of Assistant as part of the recruitment proposal, as long as this is requested by the National Dean of the corresponding school and approved by the Institution’s Rector for Higher Education.
The provisions of Article 22 do not apply to these cases.
Description
The Monterrey Institute of Technology is committed to attracting the best academic talent, so, in recognition of the career of the professors who join the institution, this article allows us to validate the previous experience that a person who joins as Professor.
If the person has a current classification from another institution, they can apply by article 5 (a classification is valid if less than 3 years have passed since leaving the institution that granted it, as long as the classification had been active at the time of departure).
To provide evidence in this article, the following must be submitted:
For subsection a:
- The classification certificate (or equivalent: diploma, appointment letter) issued by the higher education institution of origin, which must have a world ranking in the Top 200 by QS, ARWU or THE. In the event that the Institution of origin does not have a Top 200 ranking, but is on the list of ranked institutions, the exception request letter from the National Dean of the School that must also be submitted.
- Recommendation letter for the classification category, signed by the National Dean of the School, or by the Associate Dean of Faculty, including the ranking of the university or institution that granted the classification.
- It is important that the professor interested in applying for article 5 consults with his classification representative, who will help in the process.
For subsection b:
- The process of assigning the category will be carried out from the moment the person is hired. In this case, the National Dean of the corresponding school will request approval from the Rector of Professional and Postgraduate Studies, and will inform the Vice-Rector of Faculty about the approval of the classification, for its registration in the professor's file.
